Europe is just next door

I just had time to grab my bag and I am now already at my metro station, just downhill Montmartre, on my way to “Gare du Nord”. If you, like me, sometimes feel surrounded by a fog in the morning, you certainly can get the impression that Brussels is the next metro stop away. Well, it is actually only an hour and 25 minutes from the Paris central station but as soon as you reach your final destination, you can really feel that you have entered another country. All around you, you hear a sweet “Babelian” medley.

Yes, you are already in the European capital!
